After being neglected for almost a century Straight Rye Whiskey (distilled from mashbill with the rye content of minimum of 51%) is regaining its reputation. First Woodford Reserve rye whiskey was distilled 100% from rye and launched in 2011 as part of Master’s Collection range. Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey has different formula – 53% rye, 33% corn and 14% malted barley. With relatively high corn content it is one of the sweetest ryes on the market. Kentucky Straight Rye, just like traditional Distiller’s Select expression, is a marriage of whiskey distilled in column stills at Brown-Forman’s Old Forester Distillery and pot still distilled Woodford Reserve.
