Ardmore Distillery was built in 1898 by William Teacher & Sons to supply malt for the Teacher’s blends. In 2005 it became part of Jim Beam Global and when Beam merged with the Japanese conglomerate Suntory in 2014 the distillery ownership was transferred to the newly created Company, Beam Suntory. Throughout the 20th Century the official bottlings of Ardmore were very scarce, the turning point came in 2007 with the launch of Ardmore Traditional. The Tradition is the latest edition to the distillery range, a Travel Retail exclusive. It comprises whisky aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in quarter casks.
