Glen Deveron whisky is distilled at the Macduff Distillery in Eastern Highlands. The distillery was built in the early 1960s by the group of private investors. In 1972 it was acquired by William Lawson Distillers, subsidiary of Bacardi Martini. Macduff has been a major supplier of malt whisky for William Lawson’s brand, which currently sells around 35 million bottles per annum. Glen Deveron 8 years old was bottled in the 1980s for the Italian distributor (and the distillery owner) Martini & Rossi.
Nose: sweet and malty, with notes of apple blossom, pineapple, bananas, vanilla, sweet cereals, oak shavings and hints of cumin.
Palate: light and smooth, sweet cereals, apricots, bananas, baked apples, milk chocolate, hints of ginger and white pepper.
Finish: medium long, fruity, apples, apricots, hints of vanilla and oak.
