Longmorn Distillery was founded in 1894 by John Duff and is currently owned by Chivas Bros, subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. The distillery produces close to 4.5 million liters of spirit per annum with vast majority of the output going into Chivas Regal 18 years old and Chivas Royal Salute blends. Longmorn 1994, part of the Chieftain’s range, varies from any official bottling. The whisky distilled in April 1994 was aged in refill bourbon casks and finished in Manzanilla sherry casks (no. 90131 and 90132). Bottled in September 2005 at 43% abv. Chieftain’s brand is part of Ian Macleod Distillers portfolio, owners of Glengoyne and Tamdhu distilleries.
