Glenfiddich Distillery sits in Dufftown, the whisky capitol of Scotland. It was built by William Grant in 1886 and furnished with second-hand equipment purchased from Cardhu Distillery for £119 19s. Today Glenfiddich is the biggest Scottish malt distillery with capacity of 14 million liters of spirit per annum. In 2011 the distillery reached a considerable milestone by selling 1 million cases of whisky – first malt whisky brand with such achievement. Special Reserve used to be a NAS expression, at the dawn of the new Millennium replaced with 12 years old.
