In 2005 Jim Beam Global, part of Fortune Brands, became new owner of Laphroaig Distillery. Within next few years they greatly extended the distillery range adding several NAS expressions, mostly double matured. Brodir (‘Brother’ in ancient Norse) was introduced in 2012 and was sold exclusively on the Viking Line ferries. Batch 002 launched in 2015 was bottled exclusively for European Travel Retail customers. The whisky was matured in ex-bourbon casks before being transferred into ex-Ruby Port casks. Bottled unchill-filtered at 48% abv.
