The Craignure is one of the five mysterious whiskies released by Invergordon Distillers in their Malts of Scotland range. Just like in case of other bottlings in the range, such as Ferintosh or Druichan, Invergordon does not reveal the distillery name, only the region. Craignure whisky comes from the Island, and is named after the village and main ferry port on the Isle of Mull, home to Tobermory Distillery but the Invergordon people did not deny that it was Jura Distillery that supplied whisky for the Craignure brand. There were never business or ownership ties between Invergordon and Tobermory, Jura on the other hand, is owned by Whyte & Mackay (just like Invergordon Distillers). Other brands included in the Malts of Scotland range comprised whiskies from the distilleries associated one way or another with Invergordon (i.e. Glenluig/Dalmore, Ferintosh/Tamnavulin or Druichan/Bruichladdich). The Craignure 10 years old debuted in Spain and was soon introduced in other European countries.
