William Matheson founded Glenmorangie Distillery in 1843 when he was a partner in Balblair Distillery. Matheson, who lacked capital, purchased a pair of second hand stills of unusual height, over 5 meters. Today the distillery is equipped with six pairs of stills, all replicas of the original. We are not certain when exactly the 10 years old expression was launched, it is very likely however that it was available before the World War II. Here we have the 1993 release commemorating 150th Anniversary of the distillery. It is presented in beautiful and highly collectable metal tin.
