Connoisseurs Choice is an old whisky label from Gordon & MacPhail portfolio. It was introduced in the mid 1960s when the majority of Scottish malt distilleries supplied their whiskies for blending industry without even considering marketing them as single malts. Toady, half a Century later, Connoisseurs Choice is still part of Gordon & MacPhail’s range and successfully competes with dozens of whisky labels. The Speyburn expression from 1992 comprises whisky distilled in 1971, when the distillery operated as part of DCL and supplied malt whisky for the company blends, and aged in ex-sherry and ex-bourbon barrels.
