Tormore Distillery sits in Speyside and it is the first distillery to be built in Scotland in the 20th Century. It was commissioned in 1958 by Long John International after the company’s acquisition in 1956 by the American corporation Schenley Industries. The Tormore ownership changed several times, since 2005 it has been owned by Chivas Bros. subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. The distillery produces over 4 million liters of spirit per annum with vast majority going into blends, mainly Long John, Chivas and Ballantine’s. Tormore 14 years old was introduced in the late 2013, here we have batch # A 1508 from August 2015. The whisky was matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks.
