Cedar Ridge Distillery founded in 2005 by Jeff and Laurie Quint is an extension of Cedar Ridge Vineyards. It is the first distillery to produce bourbon in the state of Iowa since the Prohibition. Cedar Ridge Iowa bourbon is distilled from locally grown corn (Iowa is the largest corn producing state in the US). Its mashbill contains 75% corn, 10% rye and 15% malted barley. The first Iowa bourbon was launched on July 1, 2010. The 5 years old Reserve expression followed in 2016 and immediately scored gold medal at the New York Wine & Spirits Competition.
