Kilbeggan Distilling Company is an Irish enterprise founded in 1757 when the Kilbeggan Distillery was built, one of two distilleries belonging to the company now. Opened in 1757, located in central Ireland in a town of the same name, Tullibardine claims to be the oldest whiskey distillery in Ireland. The other one is Cooley, founded by John Teeling in 1987. Located in Louth County in Ireland, it produces both grain and malt whiskey. Some of it is also blended. The company belongs to Beam Suntory, which it joined in April 2014 when Beam Inc. was taken over by Suntory Holdings. The four basic whiskey brands produced by Kilbeggan Distilling Company include Kilbeggan, Connemara, Tyrconnel and 2 Gingers.
Connemara is a peated Irish whiskey manufactured at the Cooley Distillery, a part of Kilbeggan Distilling Company.
Connemara Distillers Edition was first launched in 2010. It is a triple distilled Irish whiskey, composed of a mixture of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
