Much has changed since our founder Don Andrés Brugal arrived in the Dominican Republic in 1888, yet we still craft our rum the same way.
From farm to bottle, every drop is distilled, filtered and cask aged by the Family, creating a distinctly different, refreshingly dry rum. Today’s Maestros Roneros, or ‘Master Blenders’, are the 4th and 5th generation of the Brugal family. Have been perfecting craft for over 125 years, so they know a thing or two about the ideal ingredients. All rums are double distilled, in the southern town of San Pedro de Macorix. Spirit is matured in a variety of oak casks, carefully selected by our Master of Wood. As the rum matures it absorbs the colours and aromas of the casks. Brugal Blanco Especial is made from distillates of 1-2 years aged, and then are being filtered so that they are colourless.
A beautifully crisp, tangy white rum from Brugal. Ron Blanco Especial has some lovely tropical fruit notes going on, making it the perfect addition to many a fine rum cocktail!
