Compass Box is a relatively new player on the whisky market; the company was founded in 2000 by John Glaser, who previously worked for Diageo. The first Compass Box whisky release Hedonism blended grain came in 2000. Blended grain is the smallest of five official categories of Scotch whisky recognized by Scotch Whisky Association. Hedonism is released once or twice a year in batches and whiskies included in the brand are usually sourced from Cameron Bridge, Port Dundas, Cambus, Carsebridge or Dumbarton distilleries and married for up to 24 months before bottling. Whiskies selected for each batch have been aged in white American oak barrels, either first fill or rejuvenated.
