Amrut is a family owned distillery based in Bangalore, south India. It produces about 50 million bottles of spirits annually, of which 1.4 million bottles is whisky. The company has been producing blended whiskies since 1980s; single malt was introduced in 2004 in Europe and 2010 in India. Amrut distills from unpeated barley sourced from the north of the country and from peated malt imported from Scotland.
