This is a barley malt whisky distilled at Fuji Gotemba distillery, located in the town of Gotemba at the foot of Mout Fuji, at an altitude of 620 metres above sea level. The still was founded in 1973 and is equipped with two pairs of stills and three continuous columns stills. Fuji Sanroku is the only single malt whisky produced at the distillery. It is composed of spirits that have matured for at least 18 years in ex-bourbon, American white oak casks. It is a rather hard to find Japanese malt whisky.
Nose: Delicate and fruity, with notes of pears, apples, honey, cherries, some delicate peat, chocolate, pineapple, walnuts and cigar.
Palate: Full and deep, with some oakiness, cocoa, lemon, pineapple, walnut, lingonberries, herbs and dried apricots.
Finish: Medium length and warming, with some pineapple, spices, herbs and walnuts.
