The Artist is a fairly new label from the French retailer La Maison du Whisky portfolio including whiskies bottled with cooperation of Signatory Vintage.
Blair Athol 25 years old is part of the 4th edition of the series and contains whisky distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2014 at natural strength of 59.5% and without chill-filtration. The whisky comes from first fill sherry butt No. 7494, the content of which filled 567 bottles.
Nose: pretty floral, dried flower petals, hops, oranges, grapefruits, almonds, acacia honey, licorice, oak and hints of leather.
Palate: firm, quince jelly, ripe Mirabelle plums, bitter oranges, roasted almonds, oak and traces of aniseed.
Finish: medium long, dried herbs, orange zest, oak and traces of hay.
