Tamnavulin Distillery was founded in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd. It is equipped with three pairs of stills with distilling capacity of 4 million liters of spirit per annum. Of all the distilleries, which have been using the Glenlivet suffix Tamnavulin’s right stands taller than any – the distillery is actually situated on the banks of the river Livet. Tamnavulin single malt has never been widely promoted with the vast majority of the output going into Whyte & Mackay blends. After being mothballed from 1995 to 2007 the distillery is currently running at full capacity. The 10 years old expression was part of the distillery range until the mid 1990s.
