Connoisseurs Choice is an old whisky label from Gordon & MacPhail portfolio.
It was introduced in the mid 1960s when the majority of Scottish malt distilleries supplied their whiskies for blending industry without even considering to market them as single malts. Toady, half a Century later, Connoisseurs Choice is still part of Gordon & MacPhail’s range and successfully competes with dozens of whisky labels. Miltonduff 1973 Vintage expression comprises whisky distilled a year before major reconstruction, which almost tripled the distillery capacity.
Nose: pretty fresh with light sherry notes, apricots, oranges, milk chocolate, honey, caramel, touch of cinnamon and pepper, hints of beeswax and oak.
Palate: smooth and fresh, vanilla, caramel, butterscotch, apricots, grapes, candied orange peel, sweet pastries, walnuts and delicate herbal note.
Finish: medium long, slightly nutty, vanilla, toffee and oak.
