Slyrs Distillery was founded by Florian Stetter in 2003 as a subsidiary of Lantenhammer Distillerie, Bavarian producer of brandy and fruit schnapps. Slyrs is equipped with two wash stills and one spirit still and distills form locally grown barley. The whisky is aged in fresh, toasted 225-liters American oak casks made by an US based cooperage, usually for three years. The warehouse is located in moderately heated building, what creates relatively warm and dry conditions, which speed up maturation process. Slyrs whisky has been very popular lately with annual sales north of 40 000 bottles.
