Wild Turkey Distiller’s Reserve 13 years old was introduced in the late 2014 for the Japanese market replacing the 12 years old 101 Proof expression.
It was a creation of Jimmy and Eddie Russell, father and son master distiller team. The whiskey comes form barrels that aged on the lower floors of the warehouse B, where damp and cool conditions drive the alcohol content down and slowing the aging process. Wild Turkey has relatively low distillation (about 62.5% abv) and low barrel entry (57.5% abv), what means retaining more flavors released during fermentation process. The whiskey is distilled from mash of 75% corn, 13% rye and 12% malted barley.
