In February 2014 TNT aired a new season of the 1970s and 80s TV drama, Dallas. To commemorate the premiere of the new series Warner Bros. commissioned Southfork Bottling Company to create J.R. Ewing Private Reserve, a bourbon expression named after deceitful oilman, one of the popular characters from the show. The whiskey comes from undisclosed Kentucky distillery, it was distilled from mash of 81% corn, 13% rye and 6% malted barley and aged for 4 years. J.R. Ewing Private Reserve is presented in elegant square bottle featuring screen-printed image of the iconic gate to the Ewings’ Southfork Ranch.
Nose: pretty light, vanilla, honey, cornflakes, mixed berries marmalade and touch of pipe tobacco.
Palate: sweet, lots of cornflakes, vanilla, caramel, white chocolate, a drop of barbecue sauce, hints of pepper and oak.
Finish: not too long, with notes of vanilla, caramel and oak.
